About
Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal was a palace of the king Thirumalai Nayak who made the decision to have the palace built in 1636. The original structure was four times larger than the current structure, which was destroyed due to a number of reasons. Fortunately the current palace is the main portion of the palace which is well preserved. The architecture of the palace has a blend of Dravidian- Islamic style. An Italian architect is said to have contributed significantly for the construction of this monument. More factual information of the palace can be found on wikipedia here.

It is very intriguing that these sculptures in the monuments at Nayakkar Mahal are found throughout southern India and almost seem to be like mythological creatures. But it is only logical that no civilization would just make towering monuments full of these creatures that are separated thousand of kilometers with identical sculptures of creatures without a proper reason. I have two possible explanations for this:
- These creatures perhaps existed 12,000 years ago in ancient India (if you consider the true history of the human civilization). The stories about the animals must have passed down during generations and later these animals were sculpted about 2000 years ago in southern India.
- These creatures never really existed in this plane but exist in other dimensions, probably the astral plane. I think the second possibility is more plausible if you've had out of body experiences (OBE). Keep in mind, India was deeply religious was 450 years ago, notably all its spiritual experiences including "out of body experiences" which happened to many of the religious people. This phenomena still happens in the Hindu religion but not so common and Indian siddhis are said to astral project consciously, very easily.
